Elevate Your Microsoft Teams Solution to the Next Level of Communication with StarTech

How does Microsoft Teams become a communication hub? StarTech explains the possibilities of telephony with StarTech SIP for Teams: Our powerful, redundant Session Border Controller (SBC) infrastructure is hosted in state-of-the-art data centers. This network technology acts as the central hub for all voice services by integrating the carrier SIP connections for our innovative virtual communication platform, along with the direct connection to Microsoft Teams via StarTech’s Direct Routing.

Using a high-quality Session Border Controller allows for the flexible deployment of various SIP trunk models. Our SBC system enables the extraction and routing of individual numbers from the SIP trunk to specific destinations, allowing you to connect additional telephone systems or even analog lines for fax machines.

Please note: To use StarTech SIP for Teams for telephony, a compatible Microsoft Office 365 license is required—e.g., E5 or E3/E1 with Common Area Phone. This provides the necessary services for connecting to our Direct Routing via the Microsoft Teams platform.

Enhance Your Business Communication with Unified Communications

StarTech’s comprehensive services include a variety of UC (Unified Communications) functions. The integration and harmonization of internal and external communication enhance the efficiency of your communication processes, improve your flexibility and mobility, increase productivity, and simplify administrative procedures.

Determine Optimal Bandwidth for Your SIP Telephony

To determine the required bandwidth for SIP telephony, it’s recommended to apply the 30% rule: Divide the number of your employees by three to calculate the number of parallel calls. As each call requires approximately 100 Kbit/s bandwidth, multiply by 100. This results in the specific bandwidth that should preferably be reserved for your telephony.
